Fête de la musique

First concert since the beginning of March!

At the Fête de la Musique on June 21, 2020, the Intitut francais Mannheim surprises the citizens of Mannheim with an entertaining concert by the Kurpfälzisches Chamber Orchestra. Together with the German-French cultural centers in Karlsruhe, Tübingen, Freiburg and Stuttgart, digital networking is used to celebrate live musical interventions and to show that Corona continues with exciting formats "online" and "offline".
It starts at 7 p.m. in Toulonplatz in Mannheim. After a greeting by Mannheim's 1st Mayor Christian Specht, the KKO will play. The entertaining, Franco-German concert program presents works by Félicien David, Franz Xaver Richter and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Chief conductor Paul Meyer will lead the program in both French and German.
The Mannheim concert will also be broadcast live in the French twin city of Toulon. The concert is an important sign of Franco-German friendship and shows that the town twinning between Mannheim and Toulon is also actively practiced in the current Corona crisis.
The International Office of the City of Mannheim coordinated the contact to the Conservatoire Toulon Provence Méditerranée in Toulon, which will broadcast the concert live on their website https://www.conservatoire-tpm.fr and on their Facebook page.
