City of Mannheim, Chamber Orchestra Mannheim, Mannheim Music School, Mannheim National Theatre
Pop-Akademie Baden-Württemberg, Mannheim State University of Music and Performing Arts
December 10, 2024 marks the 300th anniversary of the birth of Carl Theodor of the Palatinate. Under the reign of the art-loving elector, Mannheim developed into a cultural center with an impact that extended far beyond the borders of the state. The National Theatre Mannheim, the Electoral Palatinate Chamber Orchestra, the Mannheim Music School, the State University of Music and Performing Arts and the Pop Academy Baden-Württemberg are organizing a joint celebratory concert at the Opera House in Luisenpark as a central event for the city of Mannheim. Music by Johann and Carl Stamitz, Georg Joseph Vogler, Christian Cannabich and Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart as well as a world premiere by Sidney Corbett will be performed. For the final birthday shower, all the orchestras unite to form a large joint orchestra.
